Hello, my nickname is Lefsef. I am Greek, 30years old, and currently residing in Athens Greece. I have studied Computer Science at English universities, where I got my BSc and MSc. Currently I am active in a) digital effects b) photography c) drawing d) writing song lyrics. I no longer am active in a) guitar playing b) poem writing c) sound editing d) song composition
Photography is my calling, my hobby and the thing that will undoubtedly drive me insane someday! I photograph anything at any time! Be it spontaneous or planned, I will do it much to the despair of the non-understanding persons that happen to be with me at the time! So I have with me at all times at least one device capable of doing exactly that. I believe that after some time and training, anyone has the potential of taking a nice picture, but I strive to enhance the soul of every picture I take with the concept I had at the time of shooting, to make it truly awe inspiring! I usually take a few thousand pictures per month, but very few make it at the selection level, and even less make it post-production. (yes I’m that stingy!) One of my favorite quotes, which I’m sure many of you will disagree with, is this : “The camera is the least important element in photography.” -Julius Shulman” What matters most is the soul!!!
In my early days of 5-10years old, I used to make drawings of landscapes, where my teachers said I had a natural talent for. After a few years doing that, I moved to pencil drawings, mainly of (its ok you can laugh) Scrooge McDuck’s vault. I don’t know why, but that structure drew me in the world of drawing altogether, it was way magical to me.(I know, weeeeird! :P) Afterwards I spent a good amount of years learning how to draw, what was essentially western anime, and simultaneously I started to draw fantasy projects. (yes the usual, dragons, swords, armors, space-related stuff etc.). My biggest challenge at the time was drawing people, as realistically as possible. After some encouragement from a certain individual I started almost exclusively drawing portraits of people in order to hone my skill. Up until 2004 I drew almost every day, but then after an event I had to stop. After that time I rarely did any portraits, so samples of my work are very limited from that time onwards. The only time I will do a portrait nowadays, is only if a supreme-special reason exists, so my work is mainly landscapes or sci-fi oriented concerning drawing.
Mid 2001 I started my very first shy steps in the world of digital photography. I used mainly an early version of Photoshop to do some experimentation. This process led me very soon to a whole new special world, and soon I found myself using a whole array of tools to create and enhance my images. After some years, digital effects won me over, and nowadays my work is mostly centered on digital effects. My passion is endless when I have an idea formed! I strive to accomplish exactly what I have thought, and never publish anything if I am not satisfied with it.
From 2010 and afterwards my work consists of various projects which I undertake on my free time, for my own enjoyment. I am involved in a lot of stuff, but you probably will not see them uploaded here, since up until june of 2013 I haven’t used deviantart much for any of them. I am hoping to change that, to be more active here, and to start uploading some of my work from time to time!
